A suggestion for action by the party's national committee

Per Article 4c of the party's bylaws, "The National Committee shall have the authority to publicly repudiate, and if possible remove from the Party's ballot line, any candidate whose name appears on the Party's ballot line in any jurisdiction, who declines to endorse the platform or whose policy positions are repugnant to the platform."

For the sake of comparison

Number of voters participating in the Boston Tea Party's 2008 presidential nomination poll: 37

Number of voters who have so far participated in the poll to fill the party's open at-large national committee seat: 50

Maybe a little controversy isn't so bad for the party after all. It seems to encourage active participation in the party's affairs at any rate.

Campaign Cessation Announcement

Effective immediately, I'm no longer seeking the 2012 nomination of the Libertarian Party or the Boston Tea Party for President of the United States.

I had intended to announce this in a speech at the New Hampshire Liberty Forum next month, but I've had to cancel that appearance, so I might as well get the word out. For more information on why (not a lot, but more will be coming as time goes on), see a speech excerpt at KN@PPSTER.

Yours in liberty,
Tom Knapp
