"Suspended" Sentence

On the New York Times online editorial page was an item that syphoned my attention rather nicely. "The Nuremberg Hangings --- Not So Smooth Either" by Tom Zeller [Jan 17, 2007], said in part, "...a number of the hanged Nazis died...from slow strangulation..." (quoting a Mr. Donald E. Wilkes, Jr., a professor of law at the University of georgia Law School).

An appropriate response might be "DUH!" Last I heard, that was the general idea.

A Liberal Dose of Conservative Ire

As if I needed to actually say it, arch-Liberalism has long ago bound and gagged the movie and television industries, as well as most of their actors and writers. The film Lethal Weapon 4 comes to mind, having taken one cheap shot after another at the National Rifle Association and gun rights in general, while the stars Gibson & Glover blasted much of the surrounding state to Kingdom Come, mostly with --- you guessed it --- guns.
