Congratulations

Congratulations to all who won their races!

As promised, I ran a vigorous campaign for Chairman, and I'm happy with the results. Thank you very much, those who supported me and those who voted, no matter how you cast that vote.

I am a little disappointed though that less than half of the number of total voters took the time to evaluate my candidacy by visiting my campaign website. If we can't count on smart libertarians to thoroughly evaluate the options before voting, I'm not sure where that leaves us.

A Short Video Message from George Donnelly

Since I promised Jason I'd run a vigorous campaign, I've not only put up a website but also contacted friends and acquaintances for their support in implementing my 16 point plan for building our party.

My latest attempt to engage BTPers in a discussion about the future of our party is a short, 2.5 minute video message, which you can view here:

Some Thoughts on Building our Party

I want to share some thoughts on building the Boston Tea Party over the next couple years. With determined effort from a committed team of BTPers, willing to invest some time, we can eclipse the LP as the primary libertarian party in the US. I'd love to hear your thoughts as well.

I start with a few assumptions.

  1. Our numbers are small.
  2. Our resources are minimal.
  3. Our brand is largely unknown.
  4. With a positive attitude, anything is possible.

Why I Joined the Boston Tea Party

A libertarian political party should be (a) transparent, (b) bottom-up and not excessively hierarchical, (c) structurally free of common causes for infighting and schisms (like the platform), and (d) member-oriented.

This is true of the Boston Tea Party. Sadly, this is not true of the Libertarian Party of 2008.
