The Fastest Growing Party in America
People are joining the Boston Tea Party all over the place. We have new affiliates in Alabama, Colorado, and Michigan (in alphabetical order) and prospective affiliate organizations in Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Florida, Kansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, and several other places. Best of all, people are joining our party's general membership.
It was amazingly easy to fill the national committee - everyone that I asked was ready to get involved. It was not as easy to find candidates for our presidential nomination, but we have three excellent choices for you to take later today. (Don't forget none of the above (NOTA), one of my favorites.) And, including NOTA, four great choices for vice president.
For those of you easily offended, try:

for my further thoughts on NOTA.
Best of all, we have a great group of people in Florida and Colorado working to put us on the ballot in both places. It is a race to the finish in Colorado, but I feel confident we'll make a good showing there. Which ought to make Florida work, too.
Why are people joining our party? Why are we working so hard to make it work?
Many people are unhappy with the course and direction of the Libertarian Party. Its membership continues to fall as the insiders and compromisers continue to sully the name of libertarianism by embracing poor choices and insisting on moderation in defense of justice, opposing extremism in defense of liberty.
Another reason we're growing is due to the principled stand our members take about reducing the size and scope of government. We are about having the government leave you alone, and us too.
We're also growing because we're active, we're involved, we're doing stuff. Sure, it is an uphill battle just to get on the ballot, but it is a battle worth fighting.
Thank you for joining our party. If you were wondering what to bring to the party, my first request is for each of you to go out and find two friends. Bring friends to this party!
Second, if you live near Denver, Colorado and are a registered voter, please get in touch with me or Wes Pinchot. We need 9 registered voters to be electors for our independent candidates - you can be registered with any party you choose.
Third, if your state affiliate is not yet organized, please consider taking a leading role in the future of freedom on this planet. Get your state organized.
Once you have a state affiliate put together, get a roster of national, state, and local offices for your part of the world and put together candidates for all of these races. Even electing a Boston Tea Party member to the city council would make a difference.
Find out about ballot access in your state. Stop by the forum topic for your state and let us know what to expect. It looks like we're past the deadlines in Alabama and Texas, but we can still make it work in other states. And we're eager to get going.
We have an excellent group of extremely enthusiastic, hard working activists. Let's be proud of what we've accomplished so far, and go out and do even more.

Christopher Tompkins:
Do you have any information on the potential Kansas affilate? I live in this state and would like to know what's going here. Thanks.

You can contact me for details, and I'll shoot you an e-mail right now. I'm the contact person, but as I've been a tiny bit busy with other party biz, I've not done much yet. Your help would be inestimably valuable.
