Charles Jay for President -- My Campaign Pledge

CHARLES JAY: PRE-CONVENTION STATEMENT

I want to thank everyone for their assistance and incredible professionalism during this process. It both impresses and excites me.

I would also like to thank Douglass Gaking from RPIradio.com for hosting our debates on Saturday night. He overcame technical obstacles and took another step forward for freedom and liberty.

It goes without saying that I would be absolutely delighted to serve with any of the three vice-presidential candidates emerge as the nominee at the end of the convention. And I wish them the best of luck as the convention gets underway.

These are the things I pledge to you, if nominated:

* I pledge that as your nominee I would adhere to the principles of reducing the size, scope and power of government as set forth by the Boston Tea Party.

* I pledge that I would do my utmost to present our campaign message to the best of my ability.

* I pledge that I will seek input from, and collaborate with, any member of the Boston Tea Party who is sincerely interested in the objectives of the party and the campaign. Remember, though my name may wind up associated with this campaign, this is YOUR party, not just mine.

* I pledge to do whatever is in my power to help grow the party. And there is tremendous potential for growth.

* I pledge to you that I will put my best foot forward to be a candidate you can be proud of.

* I pledge to you that, when the dust clears, a vote for Charles Jay and the Boston Tea Party will be anything BUT a "wasted vote."

And so, with all humility, but also with great conviction, I ask for your support for the Boston Tea Party's presidential nomination.

Let's party like it's 1773!

Thank you,

CHARLES JAY

Todd Andrew Barnett:

Charles,

As one of the vice presidential nominees, regardless of who comes out of the nominating convention as a victor for the presidential race, I am, at every step of the way, committed to help you succeed in your efforts to get the message out to the voters on the BTP ticket.

Whether I win the VP race, or Tom, or Chris -- one thing is clear: we're all on the same team, regardless of the minute differences or disagreements we may have along the way.

As a vice presidential contender for the Party's VP nom, if I get the nomination, I promise to work hard with you every step of the way. If I'm picked to be your running mate, I hope to work with you to get the message out and fight the duopoly parties, including the Libertarian presidential/vice presidential ticket, to show the voters that we're now the true party of limited government, individual freedom, and free enterprise.

If I don't get the nomination, and if one of the other two VP candidates emerges as the victor of the VP race out of this convention, I will still fight as hard as hell to put you and your running mate on the map and make sure the voters get a clear, consistent message of liberty. No "ifs," "buts," or "whats." No questions asked, and no excuses as well.

You're a good man, Charles. :) While there are a couple of issues that I somewhat disagree with you on, I agree with you on about 99 percent of the issues, and that's good enough for me to support you, no matter what happens.

Good luck, Charles, and may the best men running for president and vice president win!

Yours in Liberty,

Todd Andrew Barnett
Boston Tea Candidate for Vice President of the United States

Mr. Jay,

Thank you for running. I sent you a note via CJ08.com the other day. There's a small typo -- "First Ammendment" -- on the front page. (Also, the blog entry about John McCain's political collapse seems a bit dated...)

Will you have a Facebook group soon? I saw the button on the site, but it didn't go anywhere.

Not gonna hook us up with dates with Marilyn Chambers? Shucks.
