I just got off the phone with Paulie Canoli, who knows more than anyone I've met about ballot access.
He says that there is still time to get the signatures for independent candidates to get them onto the ballot.

Presidential Independents have until Sept 1 to collect 5,000 signatures. I will start working on that tomorrow after we know the candidates.

Thanks for your expression of interest. The bylaws article seven has all the requirements for a state affiliate.
Meanwhile, anyone else in Alabama is welcome to post here to indicate interest in being part of that state's affiliate.
