Small minority parties have absolutely no choice in the US but to use POLITICAL MIGRATION, as illustrated by the above websites, to win a single municipality, using national focus, resources, and voters, before making any real attempt to change natioal party or even develop a national platform or even dream nationally.

An interesting post. You neglect to mention two major "liberty migration" projects.

The Free State Project was started by Yale graduate student Jason Sorens about eight or nine years ago, as I recall. I remember reading his first proposal in The Libertarian Enterprise, following up on an essay by Walter Williams. The FSP is having its Liberty Forum in New Hampshire starting this Thursday and running through the weekend. Sadly, I won't be able to attend.

Another liberty migration project, ostensibly focusing on smaller population counties (but not the very smallest population county in Wyoming, nor the very smallest in the USA) is Free State Wyoming. Their main web site has been cobwebbed since about 2006, but their forum at fundamentalsoffreedom.com has been active. I think the guy who runs the show, Ken Royce, is a racist and xenophobe.

Wasn't the free town project one of Chuck Geshlider's things? I've tried to work with Chuck on a couple of occasions. He is arguably a more colorful figure in the liberty movement than me.

His earlier projects, with me, were also liberty migration projects. The Atlantis Project of 1992-1994 was an utter failure. The Gold Dollar Ranch project was an utter failure.

Let's see, there was also a Laissez Faire City project that fell apart a few years ago. That didn't work out. I'm not sure if Distributed City has gotten anywhere, either.

Obviously, my valiant attempt to create a free port in Somalia also failed, utterly and abysmally.
