BP Oil Disaster
Below is a list of links to stories and information regarding the situation in the Gulf of Mexico. The first two are the most important, in my opinion. This must be the greatest environmental disaster in the history of mankind. It threatens the gulf region and perhaps even the entire world with total devastation. The articles below demonstrate BP's negligence and the government's role in worsening the situation.
This is the ultimate example of what the state offers to humanity. The state does not protect the environment. It does not protect our property or our health and safety. It gave BP permission to pursue this highly dangerous project on government property. It helped BP cover up the health hazard that threatens the entire Gulf Coast population with bladder cancer and other diseases from breathing in toxins from the oil and dispersants. As Ron Paul states in one of the links below, the free market would have kept BP responsible. I'd take it even further and say that in the free market, there wouldn't even be demand for this oil in the first place.
Rahm Emanuel said, "Never let a crisis go to waste." We know the Obama Administration intends to use this crisis to grab more power for the state. The citizenry must work to clean it up, protect the environment, and protect themselves from the disaster and the government that created it. We also should use this crisis as the prime example of the failures and dangers of the state. The Gulf of Mexico is now hell on earth, and the government is its Satan.
