Resolution to join the Coalition Against War Spending

The National Committee has voted 5-0 (with 2 not voting) join the Coalition Against War Spending

Whereas the Boston Tea Party calls upon the government of the United States of America to withdraw all forces from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, South Korea, Germany, Japan, and all other occupied nations, and
Whereas the Coalition Against War Spending states: "The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have cost Americans over $1 trillion in direct costs, and over $3 trillion altogether. At a time when our national debt exceeds $13 trillion, we can no longer afford these wars. It's time for Congress to reject any funding except to bring all our troops safely home."
Be it resolved that the Boston Tea Party National Committee acting on behalf of the party as a whole shall join the Coalition Against War Spending

During the 2008 National Convention, th BTP passed a resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire of all military conflict; an immediate removal of all military personnel from all foreign nations and an immediate closure of all military bases in all foreign nations.
The current program states, "The U.S. should withdraw all forces from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, South Korea, Germany, Japan, and all other occupied nations."

Party Chair, Darryl W. Perry stated, "The Federal government spends nearly $1 trillion per year on foreign policy, and has consistently run deficits of nearly that amount. If we are to return fiscal responsibility to DC it will only be after we're able to convince Congress to stop trying to fund an empire."

The Boston Tea Party was founded in 2006 with a one sentence platform, “The Boston Tea Party supports reducing the size, scope and power of government at all levels and on all issues, and opposes increasing the size, scope and power of government at any level, for any purpose.” In October 2008, the party's National Convention adopted the four point program of the Campaign for Liberty. Their program calls for an end to overseas occupation, a restoration of privacy and other liberties, no increase in the national debt, and a thorough review of the Federal Reserve. During the 2010 convention the Party adopted a new program to End the Wars of Aggression, End the Fed, End the War on Drugs, End the Abuses of Liberty, End the Immigration Fiasco.
