All committee members shall be appointed by the national committee. The members of the committee will be responsible for selecting the committee chairman.

I think we can get on the ballot pretty easily in Mississippi, by submitting a statement of candidacy, a list of electors, and a list of party officers, but it has to be done by January 6th. Otherwise, we'll have to get 1,000 signatures by September...still pretty achievable I think. Florida might be doable, but I think the laws are changing soon, and Hawaii only needs about 700 signatures by February 22.

southernpatriot:

Would you be interested in serving on this committee?

view-from-seats:

I have never been involved in a ballot drive in my life, so I must politely decline, so that others with more experience (and time) would be able to serve the party better.

I know I haven't been very active lately, but I will try to help out with this. I could try to work the midwestern states, where I have more connections than elsewhere in the country.

For Indiana, ballot access requires an unattainable amount of petition signatures. Even Ralph Nader didn't bother to try for it. Paperwork has to be filed to be a write-in candidate. I can help our candidate take care of that. Last time around, there were only 12 write-in options in Indiana. The BTP candidate was not on there, despite my attempts to help him with the paperwork. The write-in list was not very well publicized, which is something I will work to change in 2012, especially if our candidate is on it. With so few options on the ballot and even on the write-in list, we would have the potential to earn a substantial amount of votes in Indiana with write-in candidate status.

southernpatriot:

Doug, you would be a wonderful asset and hopefully would be ale to get this committee off the ground. I will motion the Nationl Committee to appoint you to this committee.

Thanks.

I am going to work on getting the Lysander Spooner Institute back to work too, so we can give our candidates some policy support.

James Ogle, here, self nominating for the committee.

I'd like to work on this, as I am already spearheading national efforts to allow every individual to have equal ballot access, regarding what party, category or independent.

This will help Boston Tea Party members to access the ballot too, by avoiding the idiotic mistakes that limits on free speech incur.

Already we're seeing many parties bound by exclusionary laws, which prohibit individuals from accessing the ballot, problems that we can avoid for the Boston Tea.

For example, the CA American Independent Party is prohibited from allowing Constitution Party members to their convention by state laws, even though the national Constitution Party (Howard Phillips?) pretty much founded the Constitution Party.

In addition, the Green Party rejects the Green Tea and Socialist Party candidates, and the Libertarian Party rejects the Personal Freedom, Country and American Libertarian Party members, even though the individuals are largely fighting for identical issues.

To solve the problem, I propose a single free parliamentary ballot, where all parties and independents are treated as equals, but allowing whatever party/category is requested by the candidate, as long as hate or slander is not used.

This free speech stipulation will be one that will simultaneously elect a president and vice president as #1 and #2, and which will combine the seat of chair and vice chair with that of the presidential/vice presidential candidates, thus avoiding the dysfunctions caused during elections when the chair of the party and the presidential candidate of the party are two different people.

Often, there will be damaging friction, when can easily cause the candidate's campaign to self-destruct, when the two positions are split.

If you like the idea, I look forward to being a part of the process.

A proposal for a process which furthers the needs of the Boston Tea Party, not through lawsuits and litigation, but through equality and coalition building, based on ranked ballots cast as proof.
